AmRest - Central and Eastern Europe's largest restaurant operator running KFC, Burger King, Starbucks, Pizza Hut and Applebee's franchises - needed effective management of risks associated with Segregation of Duties conflicts for SAP users in finance, human resources and payroll. The complexity: multiple brands, multiple legal entities, shared SAP system, and growing privilege creep over time.
smartSoD reporting provided standard set of reports covering identification and analysis of SoD conflicts embedded in users and role authorization defined in SAP. The administrative module allowed scheduling of daily automatic data import from SAP via dedicated interface, supporting daily administrative tasks including SoD matrix configuration.
The implementation scope included business processes analysis (finance, HR, payroll), dedicated SoD workshops, full SoD matrix preparation covering key activities and risks in financial, HR and payroll areas, business activities mapping to object-level SAP authorizations, and reporting module deployment integrated with SAP via dedicated interface.
The application has been running continuously since December 2010 - over 15 years in production at one of the largest restaurant operators in CEE.
